Malaysian Bentong ginger from the hills of Bukit Tinggi is known as the king of gingers, with limited production quantities. My son-in-law, William, is Malaysian. Naturally, we went direct to source and met with ginger farmers at the foothills of Bentong and walked on the soil and steep hills where these flavorful gingers are harvested. This variety has a high content of gingerol, giving it an intense kick, fragrance and spiciness.
